What is ANPR gate control?
ANPR stands for Automatic Number Plate Recognition. A camera at the gate reads a vehicle’s registration number from its number plate and checks it against a list. If the vehicle is on the list, the boom barrier opens automatically. It is the same technology used on toll plazas, applied to a society or parking gate.
How is it different from RFID tags or stickers?
An RFID tag identifies a sticker, not a vehicle. Tags get lost, swapped between cars, or handed to a friend, and every new resident needs one issued. ANPR reads the number plate the vehicle already carries by law, so there is nothing to issue, nothing to lose and nothing to lend.
Do we need to replace our boom barrier?
No. Smartie Gate Pro connects to an existing boom barrier through a relay board, using the same open and close inputs its manual buttons already use. It works with the common Indian barrier brands. If you have no barrier yet, we quote one with the installation.
What does a gated community access control system cost in India?
The software is ₹1,499 to ₹9,999 per site per month depending on how many barriers and cameras you need. Hardware — the ANPR camera, relay board and barrier if you need one — is quoted separately after a site visit and belongs to you once paid for. There is no setup fee for the software.
Is it a visitor management system as well?
Yes. Visitors, deliveries, domestic help and contractors are recorded with a photograph and approved by the flat they have come to see. Regular helpers get a pass instead of a form each morning. Every entry and exit is timestamped, searchable and exportable to Excel.

The things committees actually ask
Does it work with our existing boom barrier?
Yes. Smartie Gate Pro connects to the barrier's own open and close inputs through a relay board, exactly as its manual buttons do. You do not need to replace the barrier.
What happens at night?
The camera has night vision and is set up for plate reading after dark. Reading is less reliable in heavy rain, or when a plate is dirty or damaged, which is one of several reasons a guard stays at the gate.
What if the internet fails?
Plates stop being read, but the guard can always open the barrier by hand. Entries he records during the outage are saved on his phone and sent up when the connection returns.
Does this replace our security guard?
No. It reads plates and keeps records. Someone still has to be at the gate to look at people, judge situations, and stop what should be stopped.
Could someone copy a plate to get in?
They could, as with any plate-reading system anywhere in the world. That is why there is still a guard, and why every entry is recorded with a photograph.
Who can see our records?
Your manager and committee. Guards see their own gate's log. Residents see only their own visitors. One society can never see another's data.
How long are photographs kept?
Between 15 days and one year depending on your plan, then deleted automatically. Entry records stay in the app and export to Excel whenever you want them.
How long does installation take?
A day for most societies. A technician fits the camera and relay, configures the gate, and trains your manager and guards in person before leaving.
